Many fashion professionals believe that there are no hard and fast laws in the world of fashion. Fashion law, often known as apparel law, is a new legal specialty that deals with all aspects of a garment’s life cycle, from creation to brand protection. Designers, fashion houses, distributors, manufacturers, modeling agencies, merchants, and photographers are among the fashion law businesses.

Whether we like it or not, our appearance has an impact on our success. Because look correlates to performance, there are a few fashion laws you should be aware of and follow:

  1. Never wear the same pattern on your top and bottom. Make sure your top is plain if your pants are patterned (or loud). You’ll look like a cheap curtain if you wear patterns on top and bottom.
  2. If you don’t wear a belt, it’s better not to tuck your shirt in most situations. You’ll appear to be a half-finished product.
  3. Indoors, eyeglasses are OK, but only in particular circumstances. People frequently misunderstand such circumstances. Keep your shades off your eyes to be safe.
  4. You can get away with wearing an oversized t-shirt, but not with pants, which should always be tailored. When dressed and coordinated right, an XXL shirt may give you a relaxed vibe.
  5. Even the most expensive pair of sandals will never look good with jeans. If you’re going to wear sandals, you might as well wear chinos or shorts.
  6. If customers can read you’re branding from top to bottom, you’re flexing too much.
  7. A fantastic outfit could be ruined by a set of filthy shoes. If you’re still in 2005, don’t listen to folks who argue that worn-out sneakers add “character.”
  8. On a dish or your person, plastic has no place. Natural fibers should be worn. Your skin would be able to breathe. You will feel at ease. Read labels of clothing, cosmetics, and toiletries to find brands and non-brands that you like.
  9. Avoid clothing that has been mass-produced in factories. That tee and jeans combo? It lacks originality. There is no uniqueness. It’s not even close to being art. It could, for all you know, include forced labor. Beware!
  10. You’ll be set for life if you invest in five fantastic, classic ensembles. You can mix and combine to your heart’s content. Quality always takes precedence over quantity.
  11. Less is more – we understand you appreciate jewelry, but don’t go around like you’re in a store to exhibit it.
  12. Recognize your size — loose-fitting clothes won’t help you if you’re very skinny and don’t want to appear that way. If you’re a little heavier and wish to appear thinner, wearing tight clothing will only make things worse.
  13. Comfort takes precedence over fashion. You’ll look and feel 10 times more stylish if you’re at ease in your clothes.
  14. A good haircut boosts your self-esteem significantly. It’s never hurt to have a good hair day.
  15. To impress, invest in a superb scent that appeals to all of your senses.
  16. Invest some effort in your upkeep. Ensure that your skin is hydrated. If you can’t bear lengthy nails, cut them short.
  17. Take care of yourself.
