Louis Vuitton Fall-winter Men’s Collection 2021

Perhaps, Virtual Fashion Week isn’t too terrible? Artistic director of menswear at Louis Vuitton Virgil abloh and all-around experimental creative savoured this chance to investigate another runway for his Fall-Winter 2021 collection. The collection “Ebonics/Snake Oil/The Black Box/Mirror collection” appeared today in Paris as an emotional, multi-disciplinary artistic execution. Innovator backgrounds of marble at the Tennis Club de Paris and a noticeable, cold slope in Switzerland are the basic settings to the short film named, Peculiar Contrast, Perfect Light.

The exposition Stranger enlivened the film noir-esque piece in the Village by James Baldwin. He expounds on his experience living in a Swiss town and his life in America as an individual of color. The 14-moment long performative piece follows Saul Williams as he travels through a theoretical marble city, circumspectly rearranging through a horde of originals addressing “the craftsman, the sales rep, the modeler, [and] the vagabond.” Abloh’s introduction unequivocally critiques antiquated accepted practices and inspects “the assumptions we make about individuals dependent on how they dress: their social foundation, sex, and sexuality.” The film’s cunning dramatization leaves the crowd scrutinizing the world we live in yet also presents another style for the Louis Vuitton brand.

Organized outlines and formalwear are the base plans for the collection. Yet, as we probably are aware, Abloh isn’t one for straightforward. The shading range spins between emerald greens, pale dark, and unmistakable whites. Nonetheless, the genuine fun comes from the creative surfaces, materials, and layering present all through. Plastic, calfskin, poplin, fleece, and silk are the primary champions of the collection. The absolute most remarkable looks incorporate a short-monogrammed suit, a sculptural cityscape coat, steel-toed western boots, and intelligent monograms of the refreshed LV logo. A portion of the house’s good extras are likewise rethought; for example, the new Christopher rucksack overhauled in Epi cowhide and highlighting a splash painted impact and the Attaché pack given brilliant neon components.

We might dare to dream Fashion Week keeps on conveying such sly and re-established collections like Louis Vuitton. In the expressions of Virgil Abloh, “It’s not simply style or movies we make, it’s space for new stories and fine arts to be set.”
